Hey There,

Stories have a way of carrying us to destinations we may have never been able to imagine at the will of our own minds. It is through the telling of stories that we are able to experience one of the most integral parts of our human existence; empathy.
My fascination with story-telling mixed with the desperation for expression during the most trying times of my life, is what brought me to writing and poetry. I have had the privilege of sharing my poetry to audiences of as many as 10,000 people and have performed at various events including, Mosaic at the University of Toronto, Afrochic Toronto, Open Heavens Toronto, Raw Poetry Soul: The Queen’s Edition and  The Root Of It All: Poems About Black Love and Sexuality. Additionally, in April 2018 I was selected by world renowned Canadian poet, illustrator and best-selling author, Rupi Kaur to take part in an exclusive writing workshop facilitated by Ms. Kaur herself.
My commitment to story-telling spreads throughout every facet of my life. When I am not behind a pen or microphone, I am blessed to have the opportunity to learn from youth as I offer them a platform to share their own truths through advocacy, program facilitation and counselling, in my professional role as Black Youth Case Lead at a youth organization. As a woman who has experienced both the oppression of silence, and the freedom that story-telling invokes, I am a firm believer that a story can change a perception, a life, or a moment. Through vulnerability and vivid story-telling, I am on a mission to remind people that their stories matter, and are worthy of being told.
